Boss Hat

THE BOSS HAT

Why the flat hat? And why it is the hat of 1910s to 1920s in the early years of the motorcycle industry? To put it simply, it was the right fit for the motorcycle riders of their day. You could wear it with the bill in the front, or turned around to direct the wind around it, or even snap your goggles onto the hat.

A great many photographs of the period show these hats being worn by dockworkers, high steel workers, shipwrights, farmers, lineman, and men of all social classes as well as motorcyclists. I have seen as many as 25 different styles in Motorcycle Illustrated magazine in one year alone. From a hat made with one piece construction to the classic eight piece construction, or fold down over the ear flap, even ones made with goggles built into them. You might wonder why we do not refer to this headwear as a “newsboy” hat. It is because it promotes a misunderstanding of these historical hats and their fabulous motorcycle tradition.

So where do we go from here? We are American made100% wool and the same price as that T-shirt at that fancy motorcycle boutique shop that sell dreams. So weather you are a hipster or a biker, this is one cool hat, daddy-o. This hat is for you. This is a fitted hat made in sizes from: S, M, L, and XL and priced at $75.00 to go.
